About Okinawa Christian School International
Mission
OCSI seeks to partner with families of the local and international community of Okinawa by
offering an excellent Christian education in the English language. We endeavor to “train up a child”
by promoting students’ development so that they will achieve their God-given potential and
discover their unique and godly, design, purpose and calling, allowing them to develop a faith lifestyle
that will influence their home, community and the world for Christ.
"Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6 |
English Education
OCSI is an international
school, which means the curriculum is taught entirely in English.
OCSI's curriculum is based on the American educational system, and the school calendar also follows the traditional American educational calendar. OCSI is not an English-language school and therefore maintains high English literacy standards. If you are interested in an English education but are unsure about your child's proficiency, please contact us for an interview. We also offer a K4 Bridge program with Japanese support, during the summer to help young students prepare to enter Kindergarten. "Equipping students to walk with God and impact the world for him." |
CurriculumOCSI utilizes standard texts and educational materials used by American schools in
the development of its curriculum. Frequently used publishers include: ACSI
(Association of Christian Schools International), Harcourt-Brace, Wright Group/McGraw-Hill,
and many others. All subjects are taught in accordance with the Expected Student Outcomes
(ESO), which are derived from OCSI's Christian Philosophy of Education.
"And Jesus Grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and Man." Luke 2:52 |
